I swapped my rears to the fronts and got the loud noise. I am just trying to get more life out of them until I replace the whole set so I can put up with it until that point.

It's worth noting that my rear tyres had uneven wear like "lumps" on the tyre if that makes sense? I haven't noticed any difference in handling it's just the noise.

I think mine is the same as yours . The noise isn't wheel bearing like ..it's louder

I think Clan's got the answer, these cars do 'step' the tread blocks when on the back due to the camber. This makes more noise (and doesn't help roadholding) when they are put on the front.

I think you could be right .. it's not a bearing noise .. very different to be honest .. I'm changing all 4 tyres in a month or two anyways so I'll bear it out until then

Same problem, humming noise appeared couple months ago more apparent at 50 mph plus.
Thought front wheel bearings are culprit, now after reading this probably will try to change tyres first.

I replaced the Pirelli's (they were on my C30 when I got it) with Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance tyres and the rumble on mine stopped....

Almost certainly not a wheel bearing. I now inflate tyres to 38psi on my C30 and whilst this has stopped uneven wear and scalloping I still get the noise when they are becoming worn (Conti 5). What's annoying is that I had plenty of tread left on the last set of four and they didn't need replacing but the noise eventually got to me so they had to go. I have Cross climates now so we'll see if they're any better.
