Whoops. Correction to my PS re wiper blades above. Having looked at them properly this time I see that they have several pairs featuring two different length wipers. Unfortunately, the ideal length combo for the V40 was not present when I looked but I've bought a few pairs which between them will provide the right spares for both my V40 and my mum's Saxo too (which I also maintain). Now I've got some I see that the single "cover" which was puzzling me is a removable spoiler for enhanced contact on the drivers side which makes sense now. They seem to be very good, tested by Germans and claiming some nice stuff -

Thumbs up

Got the ole BiFuel through it's annual test (at the second attempt). Too many exhaust pipe minor leaks! Replaced the middle section which I'd had since mid 2015.

I need some new tires for my V40. I was wondering if 205/55 R16 tires would fit on a Phase 1 V40 or would they rub against the bottom of the strut?

I bent them as far as I dared, and they work well, but I wondered whether they should have had that kink in.
You can just unscrew the ends and swap them if your new struts aren't kinky

They'll be fine I'm sure. I use 55 on my Craters. Usually cheaper and a slightly softer, less twitchy ride than the 50. Plus the speedo is then more accurate.

Your V40 is Phase 2 car, they changed the suspension for the P2 and I believe they can fit higher profile tires because of that. What about Phase 1 cars, any rubbing?

I bought my wheels off a P1 T4 though so must have been ok on that.
Ther's a page on tires in the manual but i don't have a P1 manual.

She's broke

It turns out that my amazing solid top mounts fail to take into account one extremely vital detail, changing castor angle when at full lock, there was a big bang last night and on investigation the shock shaft where it exits the top mounts has snapped, balls.
