Default Dash Cam Hard Wiring V70 2008 D2.4

Hi All,

I am looking at hard wiring my dash cam however from what I can tell the only 12v fuses (lighter etc) are under the hood?

Has anyone managed to wire to the foot well fuse box and if so which fuse did you use?

Alternatively how hard it is to get wires from the engine compartment through to the dash cam?

Any help would be great!

When volvo add official accessories to the dashboard or A-pillars they always take power from the back of the cigarette lighter.

Fuse number 5 in the passenger footwell.

There probably won't be a fuse there as it's a reserve slot. There is only power when the ignition is in position II, so perfect if you only want to record footage when driving without risk of draining the battery when parked.

Did mine by taking passenger side panel off of centre console, tapping into feed wire for power socket on rear of console and threading cable, via an in line fuse, through console, behind dash and around the A pillar under trim. You need to take A pillar trim panel off inside to feed cable under and then push under front edge of roof lining. Been in place for 2+ years now and works fine.

I got a fuse jumper with a connection that matched my camera lead on the other end and went into the 4c fuse location (under passenger footwell.)I don't have 4c suspension but it was spare anyway and live on ignition.
