  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

Smile V50 key error?

Hello, can anybody help my 54 plate v50 will not start, when I turn the ignition on I can hear some sort of motor then a message comes up saying key error try again, unfortunately trying again doesn't work so I'm stumped any help greatly appreciated TIA

I would get your ignition switch changed otherwise it's going to let you down somewhere when you are out . no programming needed , just a straight change job .
Try starting it at least 50 ( Fifty) times it is likely it will start on one of those attempts .

Very helpful thanks would you recommend getting it done at a garage or is it fairly do-able?

it is doable but not easy , you need to take the instruments out and loosen the underside of the dash above your left knee and wedge the edge of the dash out a bit under the ignition switch . there are two torx screws holding the switch on from the back they face towards the rear of the car so a bit tricky , ok with small flexible hands ...
