Remote locking not working

V70 58 plate

Red warning triangle and drivers door showing open. This seems to have thrown the locking and lighting into disarray.

I can manually lock the 4 passenger doors but unable to lock the boot.

Local garage reckons it needs a new door lock because the "sensor" has gone. Costing circa £250 I just wondered if there is an alternative. Apparently it's a common fault.

The micro switches inside the door lock get dirty, corroded and fail

Replacing the door lock is the correct fix.

Many thanks for your reply. I assume there is no cheap fix. Do you think it can be done as a diy.
