Default Leak from interior trim when hatch back is opened

As title says.
when it rains and I open the tailgate, water leaks into the boot via the plastic trim at the top of the tailgate.
Has anyone else experienced this? if so how can I cure it please?

Regards Steven

I'd check the grommets where the wiring goes through.
