Default 2015 V60 diesel plug in hybrid problem

Recently got a V60 hybrid, and having problems charging it with the 3 pin house plug cable. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or there's a fault somewhere. With car switched off, open flap on car, white light showing, plug in car, yellow light showing, plug it in house, and a couple of seconds after switching the power on at the socket, the light turns red and no charge happening? Tried another cable that was fine on another v60, exactly the same. Am I doing something wrong?
Anyone got any idea what might be the problem, before it goes back to the garage?
Thanks in advance.

2 things I can think of - firstly, the car only charges when locked (? probably a stupid thing to point out, but you never know) secondly, try switching the charger on at the wall before plugging in to the car.

Thanks for the suggestions, I got my hopes up, but unfortunately neither made any difference.
Unless anyone else has some other ideas, I'll say thanks for looking and trying.

Sorry, just realised something else - it could be an earthing problem with the socket you're using - try using a long extension lead from another socket somewhere else in the house.

Thanks again but I'd already tried 2 different sockets at home and another at work. No joy..
