Just saw these on ebay James

However in his description he says he bought them for his 940 to find out they don't fit, might be worth asking why they don't fit in case you can't put V90/960 seats in your 940, I can't see why though.

Thanks. I have messaged him to ask about the fitting issue. Looking for grey leather.

the earlier 940 and 960 seats have the seat lowering catch on the middle of both seats rather than top corner ( with the little red warning thingy ) the headrests pull out rather than auto retract like later cars. I think they could still fit but it makes lowering the seats a bit more of a faff

This is the reply.

The rears didn't fit my 940 as the bracket in the middle was different. Yours might be the same?

Can't actually look at this bracket in the middle as my car is full of stuff. Has anyone actually installed 960 rear seats in a late 1996 940?

A photo of 960 and 940 seat fixings would be good to compare. My locking is the tabs at the top.

Hi James

I think the issue is more likely that early 960 seats won't fit late 940's. Later 960 seats (mk11 ) could well be ok

I know the rears of a 98 940 estate won't fit a 740 estate as the lid who bought them off me didn't check before buying them so I've had to cut all the brackets off the shell for him.

From the parts catalogue 960 rear seats from 90 to 93 have a different bracket to mk11 940's ( which are 94 to 98 )

Based on that 94 onwards 960 rear seats should be ok

The important point here is not whether they are 940 or 960 but whether they are early type (removable head restraints for outboard occupants, lap belt only for centre occupant) or later type (integral head restraints for outboard occupants, 3-point belt for centre occupant). Change was made in '93 and affected ALL 900 series estates at that same time.

These are from an early (pre-'93) 960 mk1.
