Scratch my last post ....
Went to remove the head today and I've been ripped (but it's bloody well going back). I knew I was getting a "bare engine" which was fine I only want the head. When I unwrapped it I was surprised to see the 5 injectors still in as they have even removed the thermostat housing ..... yea they've snapped torx bits in 2 different injector bolts stripped another 3 I managed to remove the bolts from number 1 injector & its seized solid into the head number 3 injector has been siliconed in place so I've started a return dispute . I know its "the risk you take buying S/H but they should of been a bit more honest in their description... |

Yikes thats not good and why do people think they can get away with that, especially as the only buyers would be people who know what they are looking at? Im having no luck with getting anyone to do the job in Cardiff as it all seems too much work to have the vehicle recovered to them and repaired. Was looking at autotech for a complete new head and then timing & serp belt/tensioners etc- any idea of how many hours labour would be required for this?

Hi I have had them checked and it’s the lifters unfortunately also keep getting the tugboat noise too.
I am looking at options at the moment trying to decide whether to change engine but also change the rockers and lifters as well, but I am moving house this week so the car has to take a back seat for the moment. Also does anyone know how many miles the bottom end can take as mine is on 190000 now and is it worth the top end rebuild sorry for hi jacking your thread. |

Haha the cheeky begger !
The breaker has sent a message saying will I accept £100 partial refund and keep the pile of poop he sent ... that is completely useless . He advertised it as. Low mileage working engine but may have a problem ... ebay has thankfully agreed in my favour as I gave a full description of what they've knacked on it trying to remove the injectors inc pics. They have awarded a full refund and said the seller must pay for the return ...... hence the partial refund offer bloody idiots why would I want to pay £80 for a piece of scrap worth a couple of £ |
