Does anyone know of a competent vehicle electrician in the Weymouth area of South Dorset. My 2001 V70's engine management light comes on, followed by brake failure, stop safely. A local garage has failed to diagnose the problem

Check the cars battery voltage, a low battery can cause funky things to happen.
