Had you considered if the noise sounds arround the throttle pedal area to check/replace the o/s front wheel bearings ?
Paul.

RE: NOISY 340 ON CORNERS HELP PLEASE !!!
Second that opinion. 300 series cars are heavy, so wheel bearings go from time to time. Its a very distinctive sound which is hard to describe, but I can spot it a mile off. Kind of a whining grinding sound when cornering.
cheers James

Yup, sounds like bearings to me. I recently had the same noise, humming at speed then grinding during cornering. I replaced bearings on both wheels and all is now well.
If your bearings are worn, a simple check is to jack up the front end and turn the wheels by hand. Worn bearings will produce an audible rumbling noise. I hope this helps Crunchie |

You also might want to check/replace the engine mounts.
