Default Central locking again....

Heres one for all the 400 series electronic heads out there like myself lol......

OK my friends 440 1.6 didnt have remote central locking. I bought the control module and remotes off ebay. I then tested this on my own 440 and it worked perfect, simply plug and play.

I then installed the module to my friends car which didnt have the module, just the wiring plug (this sits above the fuse box).

Ok upon hitting the remotes his indicators flash and module clicks as it should but no doors are locking. This also arms the alarm which is good.

When alarm goes off theres no sound, just indicators flashing and can only be disabled with the fob, all which is good.

Now i have ran the self diagnostic test in socket one and cleared all previous faults, no fauts are present now as its flashing 1 1 1. Still the remote does not trigger the solinods.

Im wondering if there is something missing...a relay perhaps? I checked all fuses and relays under the bonnet, which are present in comparasion to my own.

I also installed the interior door lock switch which too upon activation sets the module clicking as it should.

It just seems that no power is getting to his door locking solinoids, perhaps they need changed too??

Im wondering does the main driver door locking solinoid control the rest of them, and if so, this itself is not recieving the input signal from the remote control module itself????

hmmmm any suggestions are most welcome

Default update

Now I have noticed that on his solinoid 3 wires come from it into 2 wires for the control module: that is green, yellow and orange to green and yellow.

On mine only 2 wires come from my solinoid into 2 wires for the module: green and yellow to green and yellow...

So do door locking solinoids generally differ with those with and without remote central locking???
