S40 T5 2004 engine/tuning upgrades??
looking at possibly spending a few quid on my 2004 2.5 T5 220bhp
was thinking decat or sports cat? larger intercooler? k&n air intake kit? Remap? what are your thoughts on other upgrades ? |

get a K16 and the block shimmed (block mod) plus your exhaust
bigger FMIC will also help a lot

depends on your budget and your goal power. But all you listed sounds good
for the K16 you would need bigger injectors and as mentioned the block shimmed.

As said above, definitely get the block mod done, Tim Williams is your guy for that. It's just a shim that gets put in between the cylinder walls, very cheap material wise but head has to come off so labour and HG kit will be the bulk of the cost. I'd replace your turbo control value too as they degrade over time and you don't realise how much power you've lost till you replace it. |
