Hi, is there anyone in the Spalding area that could clear my airbag light and reset the CD player please.
It's a 55 plate v50 .

Hi any one near horsham (west Sussex) that has a vida/dice that could do a scan for me.

Intermittent limp mode no warning lights.
On a 58 plate v70 2.4d?

Thanks in advance.

Anyone near Pickering, don't mind travelling a bit?

Got an intermittent Anti Skid that needs investigating.

Thanks.

I'm primarily replying to this thread to turn off the subscription but it occurs to me that the cost of a DiCE cable with the free VIDA software is so little compared to the cost of the cars needing testing that everyone should buy their own rather than making special arrangements to have someone else read their codes for them. No intention to offend but this gear is cheap and if you own an old Volvo you are making your life more difficult than it needs to be by not buying the piece of support equipment which is probably the most necessary.

So what does someone need to buy in order to diagnose themselves?

I found this guy very helpful if you send him a message , i managed to get his doctored vida working on my windows 10 pc and windows 7 laptop in native form and virtual machine . his instructions are clear . you will need a Dice too to connect the computer to the car , others here will help in locating that ... or ask the ebay guy . Vida will not work on newer volvos after 2015

in answer to your question how do you diagnose it yourself ? well you need basic motorvehicle systems understanding and experience of vida helps, its not very user friendly but help is available everywhere when you press F1 .... you will only ever use about 20% of what is available there .

So software, a cable and a windows laptop. I only have an iMac. Sounds costly, i'll give it a miss.

I agree. I don't have a laptop so I went for the icarsoft V2. In the unlikely event I run into something obscure I'll let the dealer take over.
