Default XC60 T8 more powerful than XC90??

Just noticed that the XC60 has a 10.4 kWh battery versus 9.3 kWh for its big brother. Am I missing a trick ? Surely they wouldn't put a bigger battery in the smaller and cheaper car?

The trend now is increasing battery capacity as time goes by , new technology. , the Renault Zoe now has a battery twice the capacity for example...

Agree it's normal. Last year's i3 has bumped battery capacity by 50% with same volume and almost unchanged weight. By 2020 they expect next gen of batteries to bump it by another 50%. The sad thing with Volvo is that they are not designed to be replaced or upgraded like you can do in i3. T8 would be transformed if you could double the battery.

The MY2018 XC90 brochure still shows the 9.2 kwh battery for the XC90

Hi. If you look in the 2018 manual under hybrid battery specification you'll see it's 10.4 kWh. Dealer reckons 10 per cent better range
