Default Lost master key

Hello all,

I have lost my master (black) key for my 2021 S60.
Im currently running round using the curtesy orange key but I need to get another main one.
I know that you have to visit a dealer to get one ordered and programmed but I was wondering what cost this is going to be?

Thanks

In the absence of anyone else answering, last time I asked about ten years back it was about £350 if I remember correctly, comments on the forum suggest it may not have gone up too much since then but the best course would be to phone a few Volvo dealerships to see who makes the best offer. I had a KIA key made at about the same time which came to about £250 by the time they had charged me a lot for, the key blank, the key cutting, the keyfob (and the little screw to hold it together), the workshop time to programme it, etc etc. At least with a 21 S60 the key cost is a small percentage of the car's value, with a 98 V70 worth less than £1000 a new key is ridiculous

Do you have the key covered under any insurance policy covering key loss?

For example some of my keys are covered as a part of my AA membership and others are covered as part of a credit card protection scheme. You may well have something similar.

I had to replace a V50 key about 5 years ago and it was around £200 from a Yorkshire dealer.
