2012 S60 Manual - Gear Stick Rotating

Hi folks,

I am the somewhat proud owner of a Volvo S60 2012 DRIVe, and have a slight problem with the gear stick where it is able to rotate on its axis like a clock, but only for a centimetre or two before something stops it. It's really making the car a completely unfun driving experience when changing gears because it makes my wrist rotate.

Now, I have to be honest and admit that I'm the cause of the annoyance as it only arose after I changed the gear knob. Did I knock something out of place?

I'm hoping someone has any experience with something like this in Volvos...?

I dangerously assume you fitted an aftermarket one ? Put the original one back on and drive it ?

Yeah it was an aftermarket one, but I wasn't really too keen on it because of the looseness/rotating of it. I put the original one back on in the hopes that it was due to the new knob, but unfortunately the original one is doing it now too.
