Default New Member Question: 2016 S60 Stop/Start Battery Replacement

Hi Everyone, I am about to replace the battery on my 2016 R Design S60. It's an EFG stop/start type. I cannot find any clear details as to whether any pre or post replacement action is needed other than waiting a while after turning the engine off before disconnecting the battery. Can anyone point me to a forum post that covers this subject or offer clarification if the cars systems will be adversely affected / need resetting etc (and how). Thanks.

No precautions needed just change it in the usual way.

Thanks for the reply and advice Clan.

After my initial post I found several suggestions that the battery management system should be reset to allow it to recognise that a new battery has been fitted. Does anyone have experience of doing this as I don't have access to the VIDA software. Cheers.

I think you can just unplug the sensor from the battery. YouTube is your friend for the sequence?

The battery monitor holds about 4 pages of A4 data, journeys, voltages ,driving style etc, It will soon refresh when you get back to your daily procedures. It is only used for fault tracing ..
