gearbox needed
does any know what gearbox will fit into my 1998 v70 r awd 2.3ltr 20v turbo its the 5 speed manua. as it is starting to rattle in 1st and 2nd gear doing around 15 to 25 mph and is fine in all other gears.
i would like to fit the 6 speed box into mine that comes from the newer 2005 v70. but i will stick to the older 5 speed manual if its better to fit. i have already taken the propshaft and transfer box off and sold them as i want to stick to fwd only so in need of a decent gearbox any one got one or know what one to get for mine thanks. |

Hi,
I`ve got a good 5 speed gearbox from a 1996 850 T5. I`m not 100% sure if it would fit a 1998 R, but `im sure there will be someone around here soon who will be able to give an answer. If it will fit, I`m after £95 for it. Thanks, Rob |

ok i will try and find out but i am sure it will fit as i am not running the awd on mine so the fwd box should fit ok as the driveshaft fits into the side of all the boxes so should fit mine as i am now fwd only rather than that ****e awd idea that aint even awd full time only if a wheel spins and that just silly all time awd is so much better.

Hi,
I`ve done some research, and this gearbox will fit your car. You`ll need an O/S driveshaft also though. I hope this helps, let me know if you want the box and i`ll put it to one side for you. Rob |
