Information
  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

Default new spark plugs

I want to fit new spark plugs. what size gap should I use bearing in mind that I have had a gas conversion fitted

NGK BPR6ES or 7ES and keep the gap as set in the box

I never knew there was a specific pre-set gap. I have always checked the gaps on new plugs and found them inconsistent, and usually too wide, at about 30 thou.

Leave those Snake-oil Brisk LPG pugs alone. £30 a set is silly. Gas is less tolerant to iffy plugs, so cheap plugs cahnged often is better. I get 5 x Denso on ebay for £10 delivered. NGK are pricier. Gapped as they come out of the box

I did start a thread with the plug numbers for each engine type.

As my position in the club has changed I can no longer make that a sticky or even edit the post to update it.
