Park Assist
I had a message flash up on the display "Park Assist Requires Service" or something of the like.
Is this something I could look at myself or should I wait for the dealer service? Also, the button illuminates then immediately goes out on the switch. Anyone had something like this? Would be grateful for your observations. |

Just so we all know what you are talking about and whether it applies to our cars, what car do you have that is experiencing this problem. Putting your car spec in a signature at the bottom of your posting so it appears every time you post obviates having to go through this interrogation!

It doesn't seem to be mentioned in the service manuals. Is there a module or any cable connections that are liable to come loose? you Thanks, |

Now that is interesting as my car has started to do the same, on occasions I also get the "Park Assist Requires Service" message. At first I thought it was only when it was wet and raining (does that a lot up here in the frozen north of Scotland) but no the message comes up intermittently regardless of the weather.
If anyone has experience of this and possible causes/cures I will be interested as well as the OP.

Oops didn't look at your name! I think VIDA might find the cause if you have a failed component.

If the ECU posts a warning message, it will log the fault in its memory and VIDA will read it for you.

Have the same problem on my 2008 V70 D5. Mine has front and rear parking sensors and the warning message comes on intermittently. It appears on mine that one of the front parking sensors is faulty as I notice when parking at home in front of my garage door only 3 of the blocks on the display show up.
Been meaning to order a new sensor for a while now as they look simple enough to replace just not looking forward to removing the front bumper. |
