Default 2010 xc90 swirlvalves

First time on, I am investigating the need to replace the swirl valve assy and not in some comments the need to replce the high pressure fuel lines, is this absolutly nessesary, as these pipe sets seem to be rather expensive, I have removed fuel pipes befor on other vehicles and refitted same with no problems. Your comments would be most appreciated

By the book they need reppaced... I done the job on our XC90 and didn't replace. I've had no problems using the old pipes. Replace the injector seals though

Default Swirl valves

Hi Tony500,
Thanks for your advice most helpful, I also note a recommendation to change the injector clamps is this a requirement, seals are without dought., did you change your swirl flap rail and if so why, or was it just the injectors? my swirl flaps appear to be free moving, back and forth but have about 10mm side play,, my concern is that when i do my weekly check, oil water ect, i usually find the swirl valve link rod has come off.

Hi,
We refitted them, don't worry they work just fine.
if they leak after refit you may consider new ones.
replace the injector seals and the valve cover gasket.

I did not renew the I injector clamps just the copper seals. I replaced my flaps due to them being worn. Once I taken the rocker cover off and cleaned the ports, there was about 5mm wear on every flap due to carbon build up.

I also have a new rocker cover seal for £12 posted if your interested.

If you have the facility of a hot jet wash u could use it for the manifold as mine was loaded up, took mine into work and it came out brand new.
