Please do reply back to the thread to let us know how you get on and I hope the HID setup exceeds your expectations.

Hi DSK, Sorry, when you thought it was safe to come back to the forum I am asking yet a further question. HID- direct are not open for business at the moment so I am going through google. The H7R HID kits for sale talk about being suitable for cars with or without Canbus. Would you by chance know whether a 1998 V70 has this system please. I don't want to buy the wrong kit. Many thanks jack.

All the premium kits I have bought have been canbus compatible (my understanding being that this prevents false light bulbs warnings), and never had issues, so probably best to stick to a kit that is canbus compatible.

As I have only used HIDS4U in the past as well, I can only recommend one of their's as an alternative such as : https://www.hids4u.co.uk/H7-HIDS4U-S...rsion-Kit.html, if you are desperate. However, its no better than the HIDs Direct kit and at an extra £20 becomes poor value as well.

Using the following kit as an example from HIDs Direct : https://www.hids-direct.co.uk/new-pr...canbus-system/, use the specification listed for that to compare other kits you may find.

Feel free to find about 5 or so and post them up if you want any of us to cast our eye over them and give you our thoughts as I'm not the only one using HIDs.

Hi DSK, Thanks very much for the info. My computer skills are very limited and I have no idea how to post a link; sorry. Thanks for your very kind offer.
I have looked at ebay.uk and at "parking sensor online" They have "35w H7R 5000k H7 Can Bus xenon anti glare HID conversion kit warning error free" for £49.90 and it has a certificate. This is identical to that from HID-direct to which you refer. The item number is 131040961208.
There are many cheaper kits which I have ignored. I shall continue looing but the one above seems to tick all the boxes. Your help and advice is very much appreciated. jack

The looks identical to ones I've had, sounds decent enough despite the quality of written English.

Go for it.

Hi, Can anyone please reco a reputable hid kit. Hids-direct are still closed for business and hids4u are asking £80.00 for a H7R 35w, 5000k kit made by Stealth. Many thanks jack

What happened to that other kit on ebay you mentioned, looked and sounded spot on, item 131040961208?

I wouldn't buy from HIDS4U ever again as the price is too expensive for what the item but, more importantly their customer service is crap when they make their own mistakes.

HIDs-Direct have had an issue with their building itself hence the disruption.

Hi DSK, Apparently the hid kit from ebay is manufactured in china so that put me off. Maybe I am naïve and in fact all hid kits come from china. Hids-direct seem to be the only supplier that infers that they make their own kits. jack

I wouldn't let that put you off. That ebay kit looked identical to on of my previous HID Direct kits! That ebay kit is certified and comes with a warranty so you have nothing to loose.

Also probably every kit comes from China despite what any marketing blurb says.
