Have just watched a video on how to put the. Mini into "Service Position". I can see that it would make a lot of jobs very much easier.
But it also makes me appreciate just how much space there is around the engine bay on our S70 and S90/960. And when I think of the oceans of elbow room around the engines in the various 240 cars we've owned............. Having said that, nothing could possibly beat the Triumph Herald and Spitfire - where the whole front end hinges forward and you could literally sit on the front wheel whilst working on the engine. But of course, things were such in the sixties and seventies with BL cars that a lot of people spent more time sitting in the engine bay fixing it, than they did sitting in the driving seat going anywhere!
