Only issue I have had problems with is genuine Volvo 240 rear backbox rubber mounts splitting in less than 4 months.
On my 940 I have a euroflow exhaust and BM cat. So far still ok nearly 4 years on. Only issue rear exhaust box strap broke! James |

I’ve never had a problem with the u-clamps failing before the exhaust but I have had the bracket that attaches round the rear silencer fail. There are (at least) two different versions of this clamp. A garage once managed to fit the wrong one to my car leading it to fail prematurely.
I am pretty sure late model 940s like yours all use the one with Volvo p/n 9161369 with the hangers directly opposite. There is also an offset version, possibly for cars with multilink suspension. |
