Not the 2B5 for a Volvo as mine are fuel injected but I did successfully rebuild a 2E2 for my Volkswagen Scirocco which I ended up doing myself.
When I first contemplated doing so it was a daunting task as Pierburgs seem quite complicated. However, the exercise was both successful and a really good learning experience which will help me understand any future faults as they develop. Rebuild kits and parts seem to be readily available. I bought a secondhand carb and stripped that down first. Not only is it a good dry/practice run but it also makes a good source of spare parts for the rebuild. |

Carbs are relatively easy to rebuild, it’s just tweaking them after to make the car run correctly that’s a bit trickier.

If not, this might help and not a bad price either for a genuine NOS Pierburg unit if it’s the right one.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pierburg-...o/114520620083 What I discovered the hard way doing my VW was that there are a lot of very similar looking parts in Pierburgs which are actually subtly different between models. The choke pulldown units vary in length. Also, that small brass reducer is quite important too and the new non-OEM copies tend not to include it. Without it the choke will adjust too quickly. |
