Hu 605 Head unit code!

I stupidly unplugged my volvo hu 605 headunit from my 01 s40 today when playing with some wiring and I didnt realise it needed a code when plugged back in! where can i get the code from for free

? thanks

right ive got the code i found a peice of paper with it on luckily! didnt expect it to be there but i entered it and it just says "off" now and ive powered it off and on to the same message and unpluged it but no joy.. any ideas?

you have entered the incorrect code more than 3 times so the set is locked OFF.
To get it back ready to accept CODE you have to leave the radio on , usually around 3 hours or overnight then it will read CODE ready to accept the correct code .
If these radios dont accept the code first time dont keep putting the same code in again ...

but ive got the volvo slip of paper with my vin number and radio code ect... so there is no reason to suspect its wrong! thanks for the "...'s"

The code they gave you is the original code , what happens an exchange or different radio is fitted and the volvo database not updated . If you take the radio out the volvo dealer can find the correct code from the information on the radio housing

VO2080 Y9125076A can you find me the code because I lose the card for the code.

I know have the same problem, rang local dealer and they gave me the code but it is not working for the radio, is there a way around this??

Yes there is still hope , it seems your car may have had a new radio fitted and the code database not updated .
Take the radio to them and they can determine the code from a second list depending on the numbers on the radio ..
