Default Can you say Facel Vega comeback?

Hi there!

Anyone remember the French luxury car brand "Facel Vega"? The brand with nice big US V8s and a fantastic French design? Unfortunately defunct in 1964...?

Well, as it looks, they are in for a comeback! This years Paris car show is going to host the revival of the old French brand (which also used Volvo engines!). If the concept car is built, then "Oh my", it will be - excuse the term - porn!

I hope you can see the pictures. It looks as if it will be getting a panoramic windscreen again. I love those, even though there is nothing panoramic about them... As you can see in the sketch, the A-pillars lean forwards, a common thing on cars with wrap around screens.

If they start with a nice little coupé and are successfull, maybe, and really maybe, they might introduce a new style saloon like the old Excellence. A 4 door saloon with no B-pillar and rearwards opening back doors... Kind of the European version of a Lincoln Continetal from the mid 60ies

What do you think?

Sadly, for me, I do remember the Facel Vega.
Once took a Facellia 111 in PX in1965 or 66.
his had the B18 engine in it. Ran it as a smker until the tax ran out then traded it on. The earlier car had a rubbish engine that broke up when revved.
A local company did have a proper Facel Vega with the V8 hemi engine in it.

Default facel vega

yep, okay if you have the necessary loot, never going to sell in this day and age.
Used to helpin Roy Salvadori's garage at Holland Park, there was a Facel in for engine problems, prefered the 1800, or one of the muscle cars from Maseratti, Roy had some fair motors.
It is difficult to turn the clocks back, nice memories and that is about it
