Default Volvo Recall R10027 DVSA ref R/2020/210

Apologies, I should have put this up. Sorry Tatsfield

This covers Volvos model year 2014 to 2017 ("safety concern with a number of Volvos (Model Year 2014 to 2017)")

Taken from the recall letter:

"What is the issue?
Vehicles may have air trapped in the cooling system which may result in insufficient engine cooling. If this occurs, it may result in damaged engine components, and in very rare conditions, may cause a fire in the engine bay. Volvo takes this situation very seriously and has worked with the appropriate authorities to launch an effective action as quickly as possible.

What will we do?
Once your vehicle is received by a Volvo retailer we will install an extra bleeder hose in the cooling system, which will remove any trapped air."

Then comes the contact details of my local dealer and an assurance that the modifications will be carried out free of charge.

Although the letter heading states Make/Model as Volvo V70 and carries my car's registration. The body of the letter just states a number of Volvos, so it will probably cover other models.

Again sorry for not putting this up, but having just paid twelve hundred pounds for a EGR cooler and EGR valve replacement and still getting engine management codes, receiving this recall notice just pushed me over the edge. My local garage, who did the work, is going to check the codes and depending on what they find query the problem with Volvo.
