Default external temp. sensor access?

Can anyone tell me the best way to gain access to the sensor. There appears to be a panel underneath. I am trying to get to the wiring to run separate wires down to bypass the connector. The erratic readings are driving me nuts. I wouldnt mind if it didnt affect the internal heat settings.

Not sure about bypassing it but have you tried all the fixes listed on here?

There is a thread about it Here Might save you some time and hassle?

Hi, thanks for the extra info. I have tried cleaning the connection about 6 times, using electrical contact cleaner. It usually works for a few days until someone opens or shuts the passenger door. I cant afford £280 pounds for a new harness and according to the service records for my car, it has already been done once. It seems to me that even if i gain access via the door panel it wont be easy to get to the actual wires. I can get access to the wires the other side of the connector and it is my plan to just hardwire the temp. sensor to this point. Possibly running the wires down into the gap where the door opens. All the othe door functions are ok and i would just ignore the reading if it didnt bugger up the inside temperature settings! I am an electronics engineer and am quite happy about soldering the wires if i can get to right points without breaking anything. My wifes citroen c4 has the same arrangement but without the connector at the door, just wires going through. Her car does not have this problem!
