Default Oil change

Went to change the oil and filter today and couldnt find the socket to unod the filter bowl on my V50. Found a 22mm and a 24mm but no 27mm!

Quick trip to the local shop and one was sourced, then couldnt get the blasted disposable filter out!!! Good tug and spraying oil around got it shifted. What a mess. All done now and cleaned up. Least I know where the socket is this time.

Hope so. Had a pair of gloves on, still got damned filthy; and glad I had a pair of overalls on as well. Must have emptied the Thames washing my hands.

How often do you change the oil? As per the schedule or more often?

Bought the car in January and it had a fresh MOT and oil change. It has done 5,000 miles since then and decided that after this mileage and 8 months that it could do with a refresh.
Changed the oil, filter and air filter. Used Castrol semi synthetic 5w/30. Got the oil the other day from Asda for £10 for 4 litres.
Just thought that it would be better to do the oil and filter change more often.

Sounds like a good idea.
Have to say the V50 is a nice car.
