The legal standpoint is the vehicle manufacturer or the company they employed to test the vehicle to its type approval. They are the ones who will have tested the vehicle extensively in each configuration. Tyre manufacturers do not have the time or the finances to test each and every make and model.

How come everyone on this site seems to be so worried about the legal side of things?
People seem to think that if every thhing is not as it left the factory that either the police or insurance companys are going to have you. It like with tyre size, an insurance company can not refuse to pay out if you have a different size tyre as long as it is in a safe working window. Likewise people telling and paying becuse they changed the wheels, if you change for a wheel that say Volvo fit to that car as an option then you don't have to tell insurance squat. I remember some one saying that they knew some one that the insurance would not pay out as the car was parked on the wrong side off the road. Well if that person is thick enough to take that from thm then he/she deseirves to get taken by them. There is a reason we have an insurance onbudsman in this country. Rant over. |

No one technically says this but you are best to inform your insurer before carrying out the change as it might effect how they view you. Some wont charge some will end of the day your best to check if they say nope then quids in if they do well make a decision |

No worry. They are checked daily - it is only to remove a saw tooth. Is working well and I'll be raising the pressure soon again Just needed a bit of excessive wear
