C30 '08 Central locking issue - one key only

Just bought a c30 last week from a dealer.

Main key is fine but when i went to try the spare key , the central locking wouldnt work , although i could unlock the door using the key and start the car no problem.

Thinking it might be a dead battery in the spare key i tested it with a multimeter and i was fine but i swap it over with the battery from the main key anyway and it was also fine so i know its not a battery problem.

Is there anything I can do before i go back to the dealer?
