Default Boot areas for XC60 and XC90?

Could someone please let me know what the boot floor dimensions are for the current XC60 and XC90 so that I can compare with my current Macan?

The Volvo website has dimensions but only measure at shoulder-height for some reason. Reviews only seem to tell me how many "carry-on cases", which is equally useless.

And the internal height of the boot space would be great too (boot floor to headliner above).

Thanks.

That's great, thank you. I only saw the basic dimensions on the Volvo site - I didn't see the more detailed page.

So the XC90 has a 210mm deeper boot than the XC60 - that's basically the height of an A4 piece of paper.

The Macan has a depth of 957mm and slightly wider than the XC60 - so basically the same size except for a squarer tailgate (Macan's rear is more of a hatchback than an estate shape).

Most men would be happy with an extra 10".

Isn't 210mm the width of A4 paper?

Yes, you’re right. An extra 8 inches then. I used to work with paper sizes all the time - how time flies, and with it my memory.

Subjectively xc90 boot is significantly more roomy than xc60. I would say in volume xc90 up to divider equals xc60 stuffed to the roof. See courtesy xc60 packed for family trip. It did fit a lot but that disappeared in xc90 boot on the way back when we swapped the car.

Aside from volume there is the question of what you can put in there for sheer dimensions. There is a picture of mine with x4 of 20in 275 wide tyres (you could drop seats in xc60 and they would fit). I had a standard pallet flat in without dropping seats to take to the skip (but you can drop seats in xc60 and put it diagonally). A 16in kids bike goes in against the back of seats then fill the suitcases so you don’t have to have it on the roof. Xc60 would only take 12in bike. You would still have to take any golf clubs over 42in out of the bag if you want the bag not to be diagonal both lengthways and sideways.

Whether you need that much is another matter but they are not comparable. If you could live with Macan, xc60 will be plenty.

XC60 is 37.8" dep, XC90 is 48" = 10.2" near enough.
Makes a big difference

Default XC90 2.4 D5 Rear right seat

Hello all, my first post on Volvo forums.

I’ve owned many a Volvo and never regretted it. However, I now have MS and am terrorising Paris on a superb but elderly mobility scooter. Unfortunately it’s seat has finally given out - the back is falling off at the moment.

Going for luxury and leather (because of the heat) I decided that I would try to mount a used XC90 2.4 D5 right rear leather seat on my original, sprung mobility scooter seat post mechanism. As it is made to support a large “captain’s chair” it should support the Volvo seat and I found a bargain at £49!

My search for info on this seat has met with limited success. I wondered if a kind soul here could enlighten me. There are two latches on the back of this seat I guess that the top right latch will release the headrest? I have no idea what the bottom latch is for... I’m hoping that it releases the carpeted back to reveal... I know not what...?

Is this seat heated - I could use that as my mobility scooter has both 12V and 24 volt circuits.

Your help would much appreciated as I didn’t find a Volvo manual that dealt with this particular seat.
