Tristan is on the forum but Adam isn't, if you send Adam a link to this thread on WhatsApp Jim he could get his anorak on and let you know if those cams are any good. I'm sure Tristan will know what's what anyway.

Hi so I've been looking in the parts catalogues, as I half guessed when I saw your conundrum this morning there is potentially 3 Camshafts. The NA D24 most likely had a different profile to the turbo cars, as in most turbo applications. Although the NA engine died with the 240 these cams would be very hard to come by especially in this country due to what I believe was a very short sale period of the 240 diesel in the UK. There are two different part numbers for the Cams regarding the D24T and D24TIC. I can assume these are different due to the T having mechanical valve lifters and the TIC having hydraulic. Anyway these are the part numbers:
D24T 90-93 : 1328149
D24TIC 94-96/98? : 9135932
Hope this is useful.
Kind regards
Tristan

I think they're identical apart from a 0.1mm lift increase on the intake lobes for later EGR cars, hence the different part numbers in the 90-93 and 94-97 parts catalogues. The cam gears and front bolt is same, rear bolt has different number listed.

There's a difference in the tightening torque for the front cam bolt, maybe because the later cars have stiffer springs?

I think given the chance of new ones still being made and supplied your best bet for OEM quality would be a second hand Cam I found that Febi one on eBay and it is supposed to be the same as the D24T Cam.
