  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Sorry to hear you still haven't managed to sort the Cam. From what Baggy798 found, where the cams are essentially the same, you should be safe. with a D24T Cam.

Question

does it matter what tappets things (cam follower, lifter?) i uses? the head is half way restored by previous owner as he couldn't find a cam but noticed the some of the tappet thing are worse condition to others and they are different.

one can be compressed in my fingers the others cant (i have no idea what im doing haha)

thanks for all the help can wait to get this thing going again

I've attached screenshots of the parts catalogue, for both D24T and the D24TIC the as you can see they are very different. As long as you use tappets for the TIC you should be fine. PN: 9135931
The first screenshot is of the T the second is TIC

Apparently they are still quite widely available. I think VW Audi used the same tappet for a wide range of engines.

waiting for parts to arrive, needed a few extra things like camshaft sprocket thing has had huge dents in it, but im looking for someone to build it as too scared and have non of the tools too haha. i've rang a few vw garages and they haven't rang be back so i guess no sucks living in middle of know where haha
