Also, I would agree that its best to buy the best example you can stretch to financially. I bought my 1969 131 in 1995 for £600 and have spent literally thousands on it over the years. Yes, the leaky front screen can cause plenty of rot issues and I have never seen one that doesn't! Saying that, it was my main means of transport for many years, NEVER garaged, drove from Devon to Scotland a few times and I commuted in and out of London regularly for years. They are great cars to drive and easily keep up with modern traffic speeds. If it wasn't for continued petrol theft (Siphoning) I would be using it daily, but be aware that even locking caps are no deterrent to this issue. I have gone through three being forced off. I often think of selling it, but then I drive it and its love again. You won't regret buying one and there are plenty of knowledgeable specialists around to do tricky work as well as this club! Good luck!!

Thanks everyone for the help and advice, i've now bought a 1970 121 in dark blue, we're getting on swimmingly so far! Drove it 150 miles straight after I picked it up, was surprised how well it drove, M6 not a problem and noise not unbearable even with no overdrive... or carpet!

I'm sure I'll have lots more questions soon, the forum has already been so much help, so cheers!
