Default XC60 (MY2012) Knocking noise when turning & braking at low s

I have a knocking noise from front when turning and braking at low speeds. Multiple knocking noise tock tock tock tock....

Anyone experience this? P/s: rotor, brake pad and engine mounting were replaced about 1.5 yrs ago. This knocking sound starts about 1 year ago.

In last 12 months, I did try 3 times to clean the everything and use silicone grease to grease mounting surface of brake caliper & brackets... However, the noise never gone...

My initial thought would be a worn wheel bearing though you'd probably hear a drone at higher speeds too.

Knocking when turning is usually CV joint

It does sound like CVs. My first XC60 had the same symptoms. If you drive around an indoor car park with the windows down you may hear metallic clicking/clonking coming from the front wheel area as you turn which would help confirm.

I say indoor car park as they tend to be quieter and have many hard surfaces to reflect noise.

Pop it in to a local kwikfit (as much as I hate them, they love doing free checks) and ask them to have a look.

Done this before, they wack it on 2 post lift and turn wheels lock to lock giving them a spin each way to see where noise is coming from. Then they give you a price for the job and you say 'ohhh I'll have to wait til payday, I'll call back in when I'm ready & i fully understand concequences of continuing to drive etc' and then get the work done elsewhere.

A branch of Kwik fit refused to let a friend of mine have her car back when they said her brakes made the car unsafe to drive, and basically tried to blackmail her into getting her car repaired by them. I do hope this was a one-off and not their normal policy!

They aren't able to refuse to give your car back. They were just having her on because she's a woman and probably saw some easy money.
