Find yourself a better dealer is my advice.

Interesting . I don't see any other dealer nearby Winchester.

How about Fawcett's Newbury, they were very good with my XC90.

Other than waiting for snow, how do you tell if the rear wheels are not being driven?

On your vehicle, with all 4 wheels on the floor, get underneath, and twist the proprshaft - running front to back, with your hands. If you can twist it, your spline gear is knackered and your back wheels will never be driven. You only have 2wd.

If you CANT turn it, then your Angle gear is all good and you have 4wd

If its bust, its a couple of hundred to get repaired, if its the just the angle gear etc.

My wife's MY12 has just had the error AWD System Disabled Service Required - is it ok to drive until I get it to my mechanic tomorrow?

Fingers crossed it's not too expensive!!!

Yes it is OK to drive but obviously the AWD will not function, so be careful in wintery conditions.

Good luck.

I've booked it in to have Haldex Fluid & Filter Change as the codes didn't throw anything up regarding the pump. better to be safe than sorry.

Hi

I recently had the same "AWD System Disabled Service Required" come up on my MY12 XC90.

Had it a year or so ago, but it cleared before I could get it to the dealer for a code read. However, Late last summer it did it again, but this time it did not clear itself.

Took it in and it needed a new Haldex pump. All fixed and no problem since.

The car does drive significantly differently with only front wheel drive though. Much nicer when to drive with four wheel drive.

Cheers

Mike
