Default Premium sound system

Hi guys
Just a quick question about the sound system in my volvo s60 2011
It has the premium system which I believe was the best option available and at a considerable cost.
I think its pretty poor, have to have the volume up around 3/4 to hear anything.
Is there suppose to be a sub with this option and anyone know where the amp is kept and why there are no speakers on the parcel shelf.
If this is their best i wouldnt want to know what the std system is like.

Might want to double check you definitely have premium (12 speaker) as I have high performance multimedia (8 speaker) in the v60 and get some pretty decent noise out of it!

I think sub was an option even on premium or the previous owner took it out and sold it separately for a bit of extra money.

Premium systems usually have a tiny logo on the dashboard speaker. My 2009 V50 had Dynaudio, my current XC60 has Harman-Kardon.

It does say premium on the dash centre speaker and it say premium sound on the options list detailed from the VIN from volvo.
Not sure it has 14 speakers , it has the centre dash and then door speakers - no sub and nothing on the parcel shelf

Have you fiddled with the EQ and all that?

What are you using to play your music? Radio, cd, aux, usb?

I have premium sound. It goes really loud, but it's not really worth the money because beyond about half-volume the distortion from the door speakers and rattling trim is unbearable.

I get a very slight bit of distortion on heavy bass tracks (Dr p sweet shop was my test. Heaviest bass song I remember from my younger years) on 3/4 volume. I did this as a test when I got the car after I adjusted the EQ just right for my ear (I love bass). Didn't get any trim rattles and unless you're planning on being deaf in the next 2 years I wouldn't recommend that volume..

I did look in to buying 2 active underseat subs and installing them but then realised I need a promotion to be able to afford that! Haha
