Angry XC60 2018 Bonnet Gap

I am aware of an apparent gap between the bottom of the front edge of the Bonnet and the top of the chrome grill at the from of the car. Upon opening, the engine bay is covered with salty crap and residue that extends all the way back to the rear of the engine bay / front bulkhead. It appears that the gap is allowing all rainwater spray etc in through this gap..I do not believe this is deliberate, maybe to allow airflow in for cooling, as this would be done via radiator etc, so it much be a design fault...anyone got similar...?... temp fix will be to insert draft excluder into prevent this...
