Hi guys. I have a 1.6 nav d2 s80 auto powershift. 1.6 diesel. Clutch is just starting to slip. Have managed 133000 miles on one clutch. Im pretty sure its o ky the clutch that needs replacing. But can find a cheap enough mechanic to do clutch replacement only. It has no gear selection issues. Any reasonable mechqnics who csn do this job around the midlands. Am willing to travek fit a good proce and job. Apperently its a wet clutch. But im not sure tbh. Help. Cars worrh 2400 on we buy any car. So need the job cheap ebough to keep this csr going tbh.

Volvo / Ford power shift boxes are the same. You may have more success looking for a Ford specialist.

Unfortunately they are a dual clutch system, so I fear that it will be more expensive than you think. Have the gearbox fluids ever been changed?

Expect to pay at least £3-£4K to have the gearbox properly refurbished and have all the valves and plates etc replaced. A good shop will vacuum test the the valve body and have the correct kit to do so. The mechatronics block may also need drilled out if the valve bores are scored. Even if the oil has not been changed everything still wears out due to a poor design where one fluid that lubes the actual gears, is also used to circulate through the valve body to push the actuators which is such a bad design.

I have done 85,000 on mine and it is still going OK. They have a bad name because of the Ford dry clutch version of the gearboxes which are typically used with higher powered engine which wears the clutch out quicker. The wet clutch, lower power powered engines helps them last longer.
