I shall have to consider a little investigation into that one but my current bugbear is the f'in front speaker on both sides dropping out. I guess it must be a bad wire/contact somewhere behind the door card/loom at the hinge as to get to get the speakers back on all I have to do is gently tap the top of both the mirror control switches! I'll have to take the card off and investigate, but it's such a bore when you can just tap the top of the mirror switches!!

Bob.
I read somewhere (can't remember where) that it was a simple timer circuit based on the good ol' 555 timer i.c. - the switch action on the front toggles the timer state and puts it into a timing loop so it gives an output to a relay for the time it's one and then switches off again after the time (usually about 10-15 minutes) has expired.

Presumably they've got some sort of logic control built in to get the pair of circuits going from one switch and multiple pushes. Maybe one day if i'm bored i'll pull one apart.
