740GLE Saloon For Sale (Gertie)

As I have been and gone and bought a sports car (end of life crisis for me!!), my 740 saloon is up for sale
1989 740 GLE Automatic in metallic burgandy red. 102,000 miles. 2.3 engine ZF22 4 speed auto with top gear lock up.
Tan leather seats. Volvo plastic carpet trays. Volvo original Radio Cassette.
Electric sunroof (Working)
Electric Windows (Working)
Electric Aerial (Working)
Central Locking (Working)
5 original alloys with road legal tyres as in pics.
Tax til November 2009
MOT til mid August 2009.
Anyone who was at the Northern BKV last year will have seen it, and me in the improvised sunshade.

Car was sound but filthy when I got it, hopefully decently clean now.
Since purchase I have done the following:-
New Plugs, points, Dizzy Cap and leads.
New cambelt
New cambelt tensioner
Brakes pads etc checked, and all good
Auto gearbox oil flushed and changed
New heater water valve fitted.

As far everything works.
Extras:-
Volvo 740 turbo boot spoiler
Volvo 740 Turbo front and rear anti -roll bars
Volvo lower strut brace.

Bad points. Usual erratic mileometer and fuel gauge (gauge does read FULL when full, and low when approaching empty, but is a law unto itself between about 1/4 full and 3/4 full)
Headlining is becoming detached at rear (it was the heat at the Northern BKV that did this!)
Scratch on NS front wing, touched up, no rust. Couple of other small scratches on bodywork, but again I have found NO rust.

I'm looking for £200 + remainder of road tax at cost price. Good car, will take you anywhere.
I would have no hesitation in driving to Scotland and back tomorrow in it, but HER indoors has insisted that the car must go.

I also have 4 newly refurbished early 740 turbo alloys (the multi spoke ones with almost new Avon tyres on them, buyer can have these subject to agreement on price.

How much for the wheels and tyres alone, Alec? And are they the 760 Turbo wheels, that look a bit like artillery truck wheels?

I believe the wheels are 'Sirius' with Avon ZV3 195/60/R15's as they are the ones that I sold him but he never got 'round to fitting, i.e. these ones....

Aye, them's the boys; I got a set on my 144 (and pretty spiffing they look, too...), was wondering about having a spare set, as they are getting damn hard to find now.

Come on peoples. I need to move this car.
She is a lovely bus, but I have had a mid life, (well end of bloody life more like) crisis, and bought and MX 5 roadster, and SWMBO says that Gertie HAS to go, (it's STILL R.W.D. tho!).
Someone make me an offer for this nice old motor, she is so comfy, and such fun to drive, and she'll take you , the wife, and all the kids away on holiday this year, even tow your caravan.

Yes I did, and I thought I had replied, sorry if you didn't get the message.

Car is now sold to the first bidder who a came with cash, and it was a forum member.
