Yes, the sensor is behind that clip that holds the mirror glass on

Hi, again

Not sure if this is it. This is a flat piece of plastic with protrusions on the rear. This plate ( to which the mirror assy just clips on). Has a round socket on the back which 'rotates on a ball in the rear. Be very careful when you remove the plate as the socket cracks, it did on mine.

But when it became free, it had no connectors at all on it. It may be that it has induction magnet in it, but if it is the same as mine, the xy sensor must be behind it in the mirror motor assembly. It seems to work by motors on the protrusions pulling in horizontally and vertically.

As my carrier itself was broken, I just replaced the whole mirror. Incidentally mine was nearside, and probably has more wires as it includes the temp sensor.

It could be that the xy sensors are associated with the motors that drive the pins above in an out? If you were to have to replace this, I would suggest the whole mirror route best. Members have purchased them < £100.

Hi, note that you can sell your mirror on eBay for someone who just needs a case, or buy one from eBay with a smashed case.bug good (hopefully) motor.

I sold my old mirror on eBay explaing the mirror carrier was broken.

Will help cover overall cost.

Be careful when you remove the tweeter assembly in the font corner of the window. It is fastened in with plastic lugs that break.

Cheers John l
