Success
Well after repositioning the axle stands to give me access from the side, using a strong bar with a pipe over it, both feet one to hold the strong bar steady the other to launch a big boot at the strong bar, it came undone. Flange pulled off easily enough with a 3 leg puller. Seal came out after some attack with a screw driver through the metal casing and new one went back easily enough. My torque wrench stopped at 190 ft/lbs so it has a slight tweak beyond that. Filling up with new oil is a bit difficult due to the tie bar across the diff (I know probably called something else but it will do) and off we go. Thank you to everyone for ideas and help.

Panhard Rod.
Oil in squeezy bottle, turkey baster or a cheap oil syringe off the Bay. The latter makes it easy to remove the oil too if needed. Well done, it turned into an easy job and I hope it cures the problem. |
