Yet to take 5.7l of oil up to the max (before car is overfilled and warnings happen) would be fuel dilution of 17.5 % minimum (7L) up to 28% if the euro 4 cars still have actual volumetric capacity as euro 3 at 7.3L (if I recall correctly from handbook) which is close to fifth upto close to a third, which, as discussed many times, is really not good for the oil or engine.

Sensibility would be to use 6L if oil, and check regularly, when it approaches maximum, change it. If you wish to maintain longevity, and performance/economy, of your engine that is.
If ya dont give a stuff, shove silver hook or other budget nonsense in, run for 18k minimum, thrash it from cold, and scrap it when dead 😆

Anyone intelligent can read and make up their own mind, so in principle do as you see fit. If the world screams NO! very loudly, maybe think a bit more... 😁

Thanks for your replies

I took it back a couple of days ago and he plugged in his computer and tried to reset it but couldn't and said needed car for longer and may have to go back and reset for previous services, it is possible he realised he had to actually change the oil, I will almost certainly never know
