Default Intake Manifold Replacement

Hi all,

I removed my current intake manifold as it has split and I am guessing this is the cause of heavy smoke and a serious loss of power. As you can see from the picture, everything around the split (left hand side where the join is) is covered in black soot. I had taken it to a garage who simply tried to seal the crack and told me it could cost nearly a grand for it to be replaced which I thought must have been ridiculous so I took it back and decided to do my own research.

I've done some searching around the internet and best I've found is this one:

http://www.catherinestreetmotors.co....26-889-80.html

The part number matches and it looks the same. Is this the cheapest I can get it for? Also found a gasket kit on EuroCarParts for 20 quid...can I get this any cheaper that anyone knows?

Thanks in advance.

Hi
I had a similar problem with a very small split on the intercooler pipe to the inlet manifold . Gave all symptom that you have.
mainfold and gaskets for £80 looks like a bargain to me

I would just buy another manifold, a wouldn't be happy sealing it.
Try ringing your local scrapyards to see what they have and how much if you remove from the car but get a price before you say you will remove.
