Talking Springs and things

I have a 440 CD Turbo, and I have just purchased a 40mm lowering kit for it. Basically, its too low! And its far too hard, I would actually like a set of standard height springs, but uprated about 15 to 20 %. Does anybody know of any, or where to get them? My beasty is a 95 model and it already has stiffer suspension than the earlier cars, but unfortunately Volvo make the springs soft and the shocks hard. I suppose one way around it would be to use the earlier shocks, but I have just fitted new Bilstiens at the front and Boge at the rear. Has anybody tried fitting new springs? Is it possible that a new set would make a big difference? Any feedback would be appreciated.

You can still have the car lowered. 'KYB Excellence' is the range you want for better Gas shocks. They're very stiff but not harsh on the ride at all. My Dad has them on his 480 Turbo with standard springs, and they are very good.

I have a 480 Turbo and i'm using KYB lowering springs for a 440/460. All 400 series share the same components, so you should be able to fit 480 springs to the 440 and vice versa. You'll have to do a Google search, but there is a company called 'Proven Products', and they do a spring set that will lower the car 20mm, and the ride is still stiff but comfortable. There is usually a 30mm spring kit for the 480 on eBay, but they may be a little hard. And also, if anybody offers you 'Fintec' springs, i've been told to avoid them. Don't know why though!
