Default C70 Information Display

Hi,
I hope one of you VOLVO nuts like me can help with this irritating issue I have with my 2006 T5 C70.
The information display is erratic with illumination. It may come on first thing in the morning then suddenly go dim and then almost off, and then maybe a half hour later it will come back on. There is no rhyme or reason for this to happen. All my other dials are still illuminated and even the smaller display that shows your mileage and trip works fine.
I’ve tried the roller dial near the light switch and all illumination does as it should, bright to fade to bright. I’ve done many typical searches and nobody on this google planet has ever had this problem, or so it seems.
Thanks
Lee

Sounds like a dry soldering joint somewhere in the innards to me, probably heat expansion making a variable poor/lost connection.
